Wake Up, Wake Up! by Lynette Diaz

“Wake Up, Wake Up!” grew out of a simple instrumental first called “Butterflies (If Nothing Ever Changed)” — a good example of how a piece of music can shift and grow. The track runs 04:31 and comes with its story, full lyrics, and a 2018 demo.

Lyrics: Wake Up, Wake Up!

Words and music by L. Diaz (17 Nov 2025). The song asks you to go outside, feel the ground, take a breath, and hear the breeze — simple, elemental things — because Mother Nature sings. We are already somewhere, already free, dancing endlessly as energetic beings. Wake up, look at the stars and the sunrise, hold a heart or a hand, say a prayer, sing a song, trust yourself — we all belong. Life is more than we bargained for, but believe: we are free.

Notes: Current demo recording 19 December 2025. Original instrumental demo “Butterflies, If Nothing Ever Changed” recorded/engineered 21 October 2025.

Lyrics: Take A Step Forward (And Go)

Fears aside, false obligations out the door. Time to ride—the magic carpet’s where you’ll soar. Chorus: Take a step forward, take a step forward, take a step forward, and go (repeat). You’re the rocket, breakin’ free; high above you’re likin’ exactly what you’ll see. Bridge: Here’s the spark, here’s the flame, here is where you’ll smile again. Notes: Single release 27 September 2026. Production, sound engineering, instruments, and vocals by Lynette Diaz. Lyrics/music by Lynette Diaz (written 29 May 2026 on a Flower Full Moon).

Curiosity (2019 Demo)

Find a map and point your finger; find your curiosity. The world is not a big bad place—it’s flesh and bones like you and me. Digging deep we’ll find the treasure: hidden truths, philosophy, excavating buried knowledge leading to our quickening. Bridge: Soon we’ll learn to love ourselves, then begin to love our neighbours—great blue ball of many people, courage to embrace us all. Listen to Curiosity

Freedom Is A Road (2019 Demo)

Oh those hours when darkness sets in, troubles fill your head, making it spin. Wishing that the dawn would light up the sky, drive away your struggles in the blink of an eye. Chorus: Freedom is a road to the other side (repeat). Loving what is means doing without all the baggage that leaves you in doubt. Freeing your mind, living in kind, being your truth, living no lies. Listen to Freedom Is A Road

Headlights (2018 Demo)

All Is Fine (2018 Electric Mix)

All is fine when we’re in time. When you wake and light shines through the blinds, when the day is done and you close your weary eyes, do you grasp the wonders of what you’ve seen? What is past makes way for what will be. When you look into your lover’s eyes, holding hand on that long train ride, in your heart you’ll know what this day brings—makes real all your hopes and dreams. Bridge: Can you remember? Just remember how you feel inside. Listen to All Is Fine

How Do You Make A Great Love? (Electric Demo 2019)

How do you make a great love, a great love? How do you make it great? How do you keep things flowing like the calmest seas, keep the tempest away? Chorus: Why do we make it harder than it has to be? Oh, we can keep our dignity, our sanity—there’s a way to be, just be. I used to think I walked upon solid ground until the walls came down. Structures I used to know, called my own, crumbled fast, leaving ruins in my path. Bridge: Here’s my tabula rasa of growth possibilities—a different kind of lightness washing over me. Listen to How Do You Make A Great Love?

My Truth (Demo 2018)

I speak my truth not because I want to but because I have to—that’s what I do. How’s about you? I’m not here for just breathing, not here just to earn a buck, not here for just playing games or hoping for a little luck. I’m gonna be me in this world—don’t want to be stuck. I’m gonna free me, yeah, I’m gonna be me—that’s gonna free me. Well, I’m looking for salvation but not looking to be saved; salvation comes from inside, ain’t gonna find it at that grave. Listen to My Truth

Everyday Song (2019 Demo)

Everybody needs an everyday song to get you through the everyday throng of birth and death and in-between—for most of us, the average scene. Chorus: Everyone goes away (repeat). Everyday I build a karmic bridge to links with people all around; good or evil, I forge a trail that I have to walk along. It’s not unusual at the end of the day to feel spent and needy in some way, feeling past along on that conveyor built of human struggle and pained self-doubt. Can’t blame others when you’ve lost the glow—the way you play or treat your soul—toil and tumble and fall in line, losing track of what’s Divine. Listen to Everyday Song

The Redwood Demo Session (2018) by Lynette Diaz

A 100-year-old redwood stands in Christchurch Botanical Garden, having weathered lightning strikes and major earthquakes; it will remain for many hundreds of years more. “Solace” is a hopeful, inspired instrumental about grief, love, and growth.

The New Moon Session (April 2018) by Lynette Diaz

Inspiration came easily today. After some time as a tree hugger admiring the autumn colours, I came home moved to write and record “Fresh Eyes (I’m Doing Fine).”
