Wake Up, Wake Up!

This track began life as a bare instrumental called "Butterflies (If Nothing Ever Changed)" — a reminder that music is a wonderfully transforming process. The current demo was recorded on 19 December 2025, while the original instrumental demo was composed and engineered on 21 October 2025.

Lyrics

Wake up, go out, feel the cool earth underneath your feet, underneath your feet, and breathe. Simple does it, simple matter — listen to the breeze or elemental things, 'cause Mother Nature sings. Heading nowhere, we're already somewhere, we're already free, dancing endlessly, we're energetic beings. Wake up, wake up, see the stars that fill the sky, kiss of sun at daylight rise; hold your heart, or hold a hand, say a prayer, sing a song, trust yourself — we all belong. Wake up, go out, feel the cool earth underneath your feet, underneath your feet, and breathe. Life is so much more than what we bargained for, but believe — we are free, we are free!

Take A Step Forward (And Go)

Released 09/27/2019, this upbeat number is best summed up as an uplifting song about courage. Production, sound engineering, instruments and vocals are all handled by Lynette Diaz, with the lyrics and music written on 29 May 2026 beneath a Flower Full Moon.

Lyrics

Fears aside, false obligations out the door; time to ride, the magic carpet's where you'll soar. Chorus: take a step forward, take a step forward, take a step forward, and go. You're the rocket, breakin' free; high above you're likin' exactly what you'll see. Bridge: here's the spark, here's the flame, here is where you'll smile again.

Curiosity (2019 Demo)

Find a map and point your finger, find your curiosity — that world is not a big bad place, it's flesh and bones like you and me. Digging deep we'll find the treasure: hidden truths, philosophy, excavating buried knowledge leading to our quickening. Bridge: soon we'll learn to love ourselves, then begin to love our neighbours — great blue ball of many people, courage to embrace us all.

Freedom Is A Road (2019 Demo)

Oh those hours when darkness sets in, troubles fill your head and make it spin, wishing the dawn would light up the sky and drive your struggles away in the blink of an eye. Chorus: freedom is a road to the other side. Loving what is means doing without all the baggage that leaves you in doubt — freeing your mind, living in kind, being your truth, living no lies.

All Is Fine (2018 Electric Mix)

All is fine when we're in time — when you wake and light shines through the blinds, when the day is done and you close your weary eyes. Do you grasp the wonders of what you've seen? What is past makes way for what will be. When you look into your lover's eyes, holding hands on that long train ride, in your heart you'll know what this day brings and make real all your hopes and dreams. Bridge: can you remember just how you feel inside, right now?

How Do You Make A Great Love? (Electric Demo 2019)

How do you make a great love, and how do you keep things flowing like the calmest seas, keeping the tempest away? Why do we make it harder than it has to be — we can keep our dignity and our sanity; there's a way to be, just be. I used to think I walked upon solid ground until the walls came down; structures I called my own crumbled fast, leaving ruins in my path. Bridge: here's my tabula rasa of growth possibilities, a different kind of lightness washing over me.

Play How Do You Make A Great Love?

My Truth (Demo 2018)

I speak my truth not because I want to but because I have to — that's what I do. How's about you? I'm not here just for breathing, not here just to earn a buck, not here for playing games or hoping for a little luck. I'm gonna be me in this world, don't want to be stuck; I'm gonna free me. I'm looking for salvation but not looking to be saved — salvation comes from inside.

Everyday Song (2019 Demo)

Everybody needs an everyday song to get you through the everyday throng of birth and death and in-between, for most of us the average scene. Chorus: everyone goes away. Everyday I build a karmic bridge to links with people all around; good or evil, I forge a trail I have to walk along. It's not unusual at the end of the day to feel spent and needy in some way. Can't blame others when you've lost the glow — the way you play or treat your soul, toil and tumble and fall in line, losing track of what's divine.

The Redwood Demo Session (2018)

A century-old redwood stands in the Christchurch Botanical Garden. Struck by lightning and having weathered major earthquakes, it will endure for many hundreds of years to come. "Solace" is a hopeful, inspired instrumental about grief, love and growth, composed, performed, recorded and engineered by Lynette Diaz in February 2018.

The New Moon Session (April 2018)

Creative inspiration was in full flow: an afternoon spent admiring the autumn colours as a self-confessed tree hugger led to coming home and writing and recording "Fresh Eyes (I'm Doing Fine)".
