I wrote "Bright Eyed Girl" after I'd spent an incredible Summer traveling the roads of Aotearoa, mostly on rock climbing adventures. Everywhere I went, kept having conversations with amazing women who were trying to be their best, whatever that entailed, and smiling through whatever their path in life. I reckon there's also some of me in this song, but it's written in the spirit of our collective bright light. Over the years, this song has evolved and meant quite a bit to me on a personal level. It's been sung at a dear friend's funeral, some memorials and a wake but it's also been shared at a wedding and on so many other joyful community occasions. Keep shinin'! xx
