Live at Greendale - Manuka Hunnies (2011) - Live CD

Manuka Hunnies blend the strong with the sweet -
Sweet and edgy vocals, spirited and inventive fingerstyle and slide guitar, strong original compositions and fresh interpretations of stylistic covers, tastefully melded with a revolving collaboration of vocal harmonies, accordion, cello and violin.

Originally conceptualized in 2010, as an all-female collective of musicians, founding lead members Susan L. Grant (an award winning finger-style guitarist/composer) and Lynette Diaz (an award winning singer-songwriter), are the roots of this free-flowing Alt-folk/Alt-Country/Americana creation..  In late-2011, The Manuka Hunnies recorded a live CD in a converted private residence, formerly a heritage church in Greendale, New Zealand, the site only a few kilometers away from the September 2010 Greendale earthquake. The songs on this live recording reflected five months of fun and practice that spawned from a desire to ‘get back to normal’ after the inevitable downtime in a very different post-earthquake Christchurch City. The repertoire that evening was a blend of original songs and instrumentals along with some unexpected covers encompassing several genres.
